Documentation
Say goodbye to scattered documentation with Dawiso's Documentation app! Manage your organization's knowledge and policies and organize your documentation effectively for easy access and retrieval.
About this lesson
Policies, standards and how-to guides usually live somewhere else: a wiki, a shared drive, an email thread. The cost is not the storage, it is the distance. A retention policy filed in a separate system is invisible at the moment someone is looking at the table it governs. Dawiso keeps documents next to the data they describe and links them to it, so context arrives with the object instead of having to be remembered and searched for separately.
Who it is for. Data stewards, governance leads and anyone who owns written standards other people must follow.
Points to cover
- What the Documentation app is and how to use it
- Create a document and collaborate on it with your team
- Link a document to other Dawiso objects such as data assets, glossary terms or lineage diagrams
- Reach the relevant documentation directly from a metadata object or a lineage diagram
What you will be able to do
- Create and collaborate on documents inside the platform rather than beside it
- Link a document to the data assets, glossary terms and diagrams it applies to
- Reach the governing policy directly from the object it governs
