Dawiso MCP (Model Context Protocol)

Dawiso MCP gives AI tools governed access to your metadata, enabling accurate, auditable, context-aware AI assistance. Follow step-by-step tutorials.

About this lesson

An AI assistant pointed at a data warehouse can read the tables but not the meaning: it sees a column called rev_amt and has to guess. The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for handing a model that missing context through a defined interface. Dawiso MCP exposes your governed metadata over it, so an assistant answers from your documented definitions, ownership and lineage rather than from inference. The governance part is not incidental. The same layer that supplies the context also decides what may be exposed and leaves a record of what was asked.

Who it is for. Data platform teams and anyone connecting an MCP-compatible AI assistant to governed metadata.

Points to cover

  • How MCP connects AI tools to trusted metadata, lineage, and definitions
  • Quick setup of Dawiso MCP using tokens, API URLs, and configuration snippets
  • How context-aware AI delivers precise, evidence-backed results

What you will be able to do

  • Explain what MCP is and what problem it solves for AI on enterprise data
  • Set up Dawiso MCP with a token, an API URL and a configuration snippet
  • Recognize why a grounded answer with evidence beats a plausible generated one
